Hello,

I'm searching for information about stereo rendering with maya. Does it works, and how ?
I wish to use it for an VR- Display System.
It would be nice, if someone can help me.
And how can I produce a stereo film with other tools, if it doesnt works with Maya ?

cu and thanks

You have to create a second camera, then render both. But as for how far between the cameras, and what angle they should be to each other, aspect ratio etc, I don't know, that depends on the way the images will be displayed. Each system will be different. Actually it even depends on the scene, so you have to do some testing.

There used to be a plugin on the Alias|Wavefront website under semiconductors for exactly this purpose. It was called stereocamera but that was over 2 years ago. I remember seeing it at Highend3D before but you cant find it anymore. Probably not supported in 4.0 . I probably have it on disk somewhere.

Heres some related links anyways...
