Hi all,
I'm working on an illustrasion for a events and wedding design company.
I need to create a dark scene like a disco or a pub, so that I have walls and ceiling and no light coming from the environment... the problem is that the GI doesn't affect the scene and everything looks quite 2D. I'm using other light sources such as spots and omnis but it doesn't looks right, any suggestions?
I put here an example, look at the connection between the floor and the counter

Wow, that's really weird looking. I'd have to look at the scene to tell for sure. Did you turn off shadow casting on any of the lights? it looks like there's a light coming from the far right, behind the camera that's illuminating the fronts of the table like boxes. That looks really weird to me. Yeah, make sure shadows are turned on. If you're worried about the lights inside of the lamps, just edit the lamp object's properties and set them for no shadow casting or self shadowing. That way, the light inside of them will still cast shadows on the environment but not the actual geometry that they are inside of.

What are your GI settings? What methods are you using?
