No way ya don't suck. I like the character concept and the draw style is real fine too. He doesn't stand quite right, something to do with the legs. Sorry not to have said something sooner. Keep showing more stuff. I wish I could knock out a guy like this as quick as you have.:)

Maybe you all you need to do is knock Titan out.
Titan, really your ego is too fragile. People don't have to comment on all of your stuff. You know you are pretty good.
As for this pic, take it with a grain of salt, you got people to look at it.
You can blame it all on Jeroentje, he keeps coming up with these great mini-challenges and sticky threads. It is really cutting in on our lookie time at other people's threads.
If you want C&C, the only thing I have to say is your characters recently all have the same generic hero pose. Like they belong on the cover of a book. Give us more action. And start making emotions on their faces and with their hands. You are ready to take the next step.

hey wow replies!!!
SWEEET!
thanks guys........
yeah when I do concepts I tend to draw them rather generic in the stance...thats just my thing, I do a lot of cover style artwork. same with my women too.
On this piece I was going for costume and attachements design more than anything , not really facial expression or emotion, I 'm trying to stay away from the Cartoonish look or the manga look, actually trying to go darker and moodier.
this is a concept for a comic style fantasy story and is my first incarnation to establish his look...but I will DEFINATELY make the next one an action oriented pose...
yeah my ego can be fragile, like most artists.....but thats why I'm posting my stuff, to overcome that boundary..its tough...:hmm:
you wouldnt believe the tons of sketchbooks and concepts I have that will never be seen....almost like an artistic journal, nor would you believe that it takes me about 3 or more attempts to get something down that I am half pleased with....even after all these years, it doesnt come very natural...
thanks for taking notice guys..I really appreciate it!!
Titan, I think you're in good company here. Most artists that I know are overly critical of their own work and horde away piles of doodles and sketches. Personally I have a large stack that takes up a horrible amount of space in the closet. Most of those have not been seen by anyone other than myself or my wife. And probably a large percentage of them I'd be embarrassed to claim as my own. hehehe.
And taking 3 passes at an illustration isn't something out of the ordinary. Even the best pros will make many layout designs or thumbnails before settling on a completed piece. So, what you're doing is more the norm ... don't get discouraged if you can't get it the first time around.
As for the image, I like the character alot. It definately does not suck. All it needs really is color and an environment. I think I like the boots the best. Nice design there.

Ah the lament of a fellow tortured artist.
I have yet to meet a fellow concept guy that didnt think he was lacking in one way or another. Its our plight in life. It is the only way we can grow and get better.
This sketch is one of my favorites from you. I think being tortured is working for ya.
Continue the struggle man.
Catch you around
