hi people.

this is a character i will be using on a short i will be working on for my school thesis.
i used a farley simple rig and as you can see the character is not too complex..
i was going for style more than technique..
I was hoping I could get some comments on the character it self and the way he moves…

He’s not going to dance on the short .. but I love this song.. and it seemed fun to do it..

The model is cool, but the textures aren 't.
Too procedural looking for my taste.
For the animation , it s hard too say , it s very short...
however , it looks a little mecanical.

Nice model, but I agree with the textures, the ehr.. 'segments' on the feet are too big I think.

d00d, he's one hell of a cool alien :) the animation may be a bit 'mechanical', he moves like a 96-year-old, but for the rest it's a funny cartoony character. Good Work after all :)

It looks animated.

1)Offset the motion of the characters limbs even if it is slight.
THings should always move all at once.
2)Anticipation/Motivation.
3)Weight and Personality. His movement says nothing about who the character is. He isn't either snappy of sloppy if you know what I mean. YOu have to make a decision about who the character is before you start moving him around. DO a walk cycle that says something about who this character is then when you have it nailed come back and try the dance again.
-weight -Iam talking about how the wieght shifts as the character moves pay attention to how people move be a student of motion in general and you will see what your animation lacks

thanks for your great comments..

but i think i for got to mention this was just an animation test.. just to see how the rig was working.. its only 40 frames looped.. thats why its so mechanical.. any ways thanks for your pointers
