Computing experts at Cardiff University are developing a super-realistic animation system that simulates the movements of a face, based on speech.

The team in the School of Computer Science has developed highly advanced software which is continually learning the facial dynamics associated with a speaker and applying this knowledge to synthesize realistic facial animations....

ooohhhh interesting stuff, but reading the stuff on the site it says that the university is the first to invest in the camera technologies of US company 3DM so does that mean they are just developing the software to track facial points for recognition?

i think the goldfish in the blender has been done before but the razorblade and the eye piccy just really gave me the chills...eeerrrgghh! its kinda like the whole idea of touching ur eyeball with ur finger or nails on a chalkboard!!!

interesting ideas though
