View Full Version : MINICHALLENGE: Do NOT post your Harry Potter here!
jeroentje 09-29-2002, 08:56 PM Hello all good wizzards of the 2D artwork forum,
Here's another MINIchallenge for us.
Allthough I am a big fan of the books and can't wait to see the new upcoming movie (or more important, read book nr 5), I thought it would be a nice idea NOT to paint Harry Potter.
Again this has nothing to do with the official cgtalk.com challenges at all. Just to have some fun here.
So here is our challenge:
- No HARRY Potters. I will pull out my magic Wacom and speak out a disapearance spell for those.
- Do a painting/drawing/whatever of the - not so famous - wizzard or witch Larry Potter, Mary Potter, Joe "sixpack" Potter or whoever comes to your mind.
- All wizards and witches have magical pets. Like an owl, cat or rat.
Some stuff to keep it pleasant here:
- Just post your entrie in this thread.
- Try not to overrun the work of others by posting a zillion wips.
- If one of the 3D wizzards wishes to model one of the entries, that would make me happy. But it is not the intention of the challenge.
- Be creative and make it look fantastic.
- Rules are not open for negotiation.
So the rules are simple again, have fun and surprise us.

Cool idea jeroentje. I like it! Nothing at the moment though to post.
Hmmm ... I may not finish my twisted extreme sports challenge if you keep coming up with these fun ideas.
A "Mary Hotter" would be fun to do right about now (er ... that sounds X-rated ... I meant draw! heheheh).

Hi, I've been visiting this great message board for over a year now, decided it's time for me to join some of the funs myself, starting small :)
Behind the Picture: Did this in Photoshop, I'm still relatively new to this program, had fun making clouds. Got stuck deciding what kind of pet animal this weird wizard with viewscreen staff should have. Asked a friend, she joked "why not pig?" I thought what the heck, so here it is. Enjoy :)
"The day I become a wizard is the day when pigs fly."

Sorry 'bout the resemblance to a Harry Potter wizard, but would you take my word for it if I was to tell you that I never saw the movie??
It’s no joke; I have no interest what so ever to see it, or any future ones. That’s just me.
Now that everyone probably hates me:rolleyes: here's the pic.
Crap actually there should be a shadow under the cat, damn.
This is a painter 6 creation, done in about an hour

Hi jeroentje: I used to visit here only once or twice a month, but the real reason is I'm just too lazy to register until recently :p
Behind the scene: The making of flying piggy.

wasted weasle- you're not missing much IMO. I'd hoped for much better after reading the books to my son. We have the DVD but he doesn't really like it. (the ending is too scary for his age)

The other wizards have to pay close attention to thier pets when this wizard come for tea. Small animals like cats and owls have a tendency to disipear over the coarse of a visi.
I might color this and repost next week.

Anyhow was supposed to be a speed paint but spent 3 hours today. Photochop.

Weird, looking at your piece and your location, I just remember a book I've read for over 10 years ago and completely forgot. Even the title comes back: "Sandiego Zoo", was about a big snake...
Anyway, nice piece (can we expect some color, looking at your avatar?), welcome to the board and post more ;)

Okay guys & girls, there is no deadline here so if you wanna post another wizard from the Potter family, be our guest. Just unsticking this one to prevent us from having the top of the forum filled with stickies ;)
