I have started once something similar, didn't finish it yet, I'll have to come with something better I guess :). I would like to say some things. First: it really looks great ! I like that you used some DOF - the front plane is blured ( or out of focus ); I dont like that the markers in the background are all almost in the same position; the graininess looks good ( suports the ideea of a foto with a 1sec exposure on a 400 ISO film ) but I usualy try to avoid it; there perhaps should be some shadow inside the matt glass from the transparent tail of the brush ( left side of the image ) but I guess being transparent there is not too much room for shadows; the blacks are too black :-) and last .. the color bleeding of the marker on the right side is too pregnant, too obvious and in "low" light conditions ( the dark side of the marker ) it seems not veridic. Pls take my remarks more as observations than sugestions or critics. Great lighting anyway.

Beautiful work.
Really nice composition and lighting.

I love how you've taken very ordinary things and created a work of art from them.

very very nice, 2 things detract from this, 1 both the pencils tips are the same or too similar to be photoreal, having them iregular from each other would be a plus, second the background it a bit splotchy try increasing the size of the GI photons.. overall fantastic work. this should be frontpage hands down.

9.996/10 - noly because i agree about the pencil thing..

Very nice work Zuliban. I actually like the graininess of the image, and I disagree about the comments regarding the similarity of the pencils. Pencils sharpened with the same sharpener will have nearly identical tips, and the pencil in the foreground is blurred by DOF anyway... how can you tell they're identical? That's also a nice triceratops sketch.
It must be a great image if people have to look so hard to find flaws! As long as we're nitpicking, though... you misspelled your name.

Thanks for sharing,
~T

I can not believe people walk in and complain about this image... It is just beautiful in its simplicity, just beautiful. I can just see some guy in a bathrobe, sitting by his desk with a camera, a copy of a famous brand he bought on his holiday in Uzbekistan, and taking pictures of his room out of sheer boredom... The focus is great, shadows are just perfect, and... I loved the way my mind reacted "Hey, maybe its a real picture"
Best compliment I can give.. My mind could not decide what it was seeing.

Spot on.
Can't fault it.

Recognise your name from the vray forum.
As usual you have produced an amazingly realistic image with something extra!

Ancient_Wind
05-10-2005, 07:25 PM
looks perfect!

I love the mood, it's almost photorealistic, if the forum title wouldn't have told me, I would have said "Nice photograph!".

Anyway, where can I buy the desk-froggies? :D If you invented them yourself, you would get rich by producing and selling them. They would be No.1 on every designers desk I promise you.

05-15-2005, 12:24 AM
very,.....,very good!

but I would make the tubes of the white ink not as firm as you did them. I think that is a bit too thick and firm what how you made them.

Why don't you let them be used? The one kind of squeezed out and the other half ful(empty)?

The tubes are the only thing that is annoying me!

That looks great but the
image looks a bit fuzzy and soft,
is this deliberate?
The reflections on the lamp look stupendous and have to be the
best I have scene on a metalic serface in a while. The one
thing I would change is the markers stang erect.
I've never scene markers lined up like that before. So hay have you
ever tried anyother 3d packeges? I wonder how that
scene would render out in lightwave.
that would be an interesting scene to experiment with and see if it
came out looking way diffrent. Keep on cranking
out good images and scenes for us to enjoy.
of all the ones I've looked at in the last hour this one deserves to be on the front page.
mexico huh?.... cool.

hey

First of all great job...its near perfect...I love the textures adn the placement of the objects its well defined....One thing that might be a lil off which probably is giving u problems wit the lighting is the light that is coming off the lamp seems to be off...its main focus in this picture seems to be right under it yet its lighting the objects more int the background rather then right under it...Other then that job well done......Keep it up...
