I'm doing a job that requires a logo to be spinning above a transparent background. The only way, that I can think of achieving this is to somehow turn the animation into an animated gif. Since I can't render it out as an image sequence, am I right in this being the only way?

I'm not sure why you can't render it out as an image sequence?

Depending on which editing program you use, you could render an image sequence out with an alpha channel on each image... Or you could render out a seperate matte pass

Animated gif sounds like just about the worst possible way of doing it (not least because gifs only have a 1-bit mask)
