Roger Palmer has entered the Master and Servant 3D.

Challenge Page (http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/masterandservant/view_entries.php?challenger=7222)

Latest Update: Final Image: Awesome and Terrible!!
http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/9/7222/7222_1116482602_medium.jpg (http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/9/7222/7222_1116482602_large.jpg)

Guilt and Regrets. The relationship between the mind and the flesh is the most primal of Master and Servant relationships. The flesh is greedy, driven by "survival". But the bar just gets higher. What comes easy is addictive. Fear drives the mind to give in, to provide for endless consumption. Survival rationalizes overindulgence.

Mistakes aren’t made; they’re born, flowing from every pore. Guilt so thick, it coats my hands. Too weak to overthrow the body. Too weak to stop it. It’s easy to justify bad decicions. Makes a man regret making the right ones. Then you feel guilty for it.

the concept is based on an idea i had a while back, and thought it would work out pretty well for this theme. i figured it would be a different direction than most other submissions.

A good idea  Is the prisoner mad or bad, or maybe both?

this is really great concept ... sa far as i get it it could be like:
soul is prisoner, servant of body or servant of all other physical forms ... or something else ?

Best regards,
Ivan

i started modeling, but i'm picky. i like the body, but the face i made isnt coming out well. the face is designed in a highly asymetrical way. adds character, but it just isnt right. less a reflection of my face, but clouded. its kind of strange to build a realistic character of myself. its nice cause the windows cuts off my gut a bit. on that note, im gunna start paying attection in class now, this sounds important.

I finally got the time to re build the head, this one looks much better so far.
i have the head and the body in seperate files right now. when the head is all done i will import it into the main project file.

here is the body so far. i still need to refine the hands and the cell opening. it is already 80% textured. modeling is going smoothly, but i dont know what to build for the background. any suggestions?

just pretend it has legs, and it is starting to look pretty done. i have a few smoothing issues, and both sets of hands still are not done yet. the peice is starting to fall together, and the symbols feel right.

ok the hands are done. i only have a bit of modeling left. i think i read somewhere that submissions enetered at the end lose points in judging, so i might be screwed, but i am going to work on this as much as i can in the next 2 days in order to finish. between scoool and work i havent had a lot of time for this :( i am dropping my 2d entry.

ok the hands are positioned and posed on the bars. i am working on the hands on the body. im happy with how everything is shaping up. any comments on the wip so far?

a look of shock and disgust! when you see what he sees, its hard to clear your head. a lifetime of mistakes and sorrows. Looking back at poor choises. those eyes have seen it all.

26 hours left to go, and im still pumping out the pics. still seams like so far to go. i havent done much with the background, i like it the way it is. i have tried to capture a lot of emotion and reaction in the figures themselves.

well i made it through to the last few steps, i have like 18 hours to submit my final pics, and i still have to render out the full res copy & work it over in photoshop. doesnt look good for me

its funny how much you can get done at the last minute when you stay up for 4 days. i have this bad habbit of rerendering the whole pic all the time while i work. wastes a lot of time. i spent a month on the head alone. this was my first challenge on these forums, and im pleased with the result. the model looks darn close to me in real life. i havent had a lot of posts about it really. thanks to everyone that has responded so far, and i hope i can get more comments! let me hear your opinions.
