I would love to see Andy Lee, the artist behind the trilogy The Lord of The Rings.
He made drawnings for almost half the movie, for the set details, armor details, weapons, elven forest, and a lot more. His drawnings are awesome.

Grzegorz (Gregory) Jonkajtys
He is an amazing artist, who develops everything from writing scripts and drawing storyboards to directing short films and all the 2d and 3d visual effects in between. He has been in the visual effects industry working on feature films for several years. He is my greatest inspiration and I admire his dark and passionate style as well as his determination to create amazingly beautiful works or art. He also did very well at Siggraph last year with Ark.

Hi everyone, i recently got this homework were i have to ask people that already do what i want to become, and to make sure this is what i want, i made this questions:
Sorry if i have bad spelling, this is not my first language xd
what university would u recomend for graphic arts?
Does this career have allot of competition?
Were did you study?
Why did u choose this university?
were would you have liked to study and why?
Do you use the ethic's in this job?
what have you learned from it?
What wouldn't you do again and what would you?
Were did you find more opportunities of work?
Are you in contact whit people, like associates etc...?
is creativity fundamental?
have you develop any abilities during your carrier?
what types of jobs have you done?
which restrictions have you found in this carrier?
any limitations?
what do you like the most from this carrier?
what risks have you found in this carrier?
does this job let you be whit your family?
do i have to know allot about computers?
Do you have a nice life style?
what do you recommend me, so that i don't make mistakes?
does this carrier require a big inversion $$?
do you believe ,that you will grow more in this carrier?
Do you have to be constantly updated?
Does this carrier let you live safely?
I really hope that u can answer me this questions they will make me take a decision that is really important to me and please be honest i would really appreciate it

I'd love to question a writer or director. Technically they are artists, and while I'm sure it would be hard to get someone I would love to talk to one that has done a feature film.
I have a lot of questions regarding styles, act breaks, dealing with guilds, in house pitching, how they got inside, etc.

Hi Kaustav,
CGSociety and Ballistic see a lot of work from Fred St-Arnaud being submitted both to the regular Galleries in CGTalk and some excellent work has been accepted into the Ballistic books. He's a great artist and I was lucky enough to meet him last year in Montreal.
Also, Alp Altiner, as you may know authored one of our books, and we featured an interview a couple of years ago with him, linked from the Ballistic site. Here it is (http://www.ballisticpublishing.com/articles/alp_altiner/index.php).

I was going through the replies and gone to some sites to see the works of artists. It was a thrilling experience. What all an artist can envisage? I was wondering, as I was going through the sites, if Raja Ravi Verma of Kerala was present in this time and was sharing his works in Fourms what would have been all of us have to tell about him.

Technically and artistically trod all over Arthur Rackham and his contemporaries; used layers in watercolour as if photoshop was his own invention, at a time when Adobe were still but a twinkle in their grandparents eyes;))) Inspired the likes of Frazetta, Rockwell and many other illustrators ;)

Yeah this would be cool. I think a lot of people here are beginners or looking to get into the industry and having someone who's in charge of hiring say what they're looking for and expect of students/newcomers would be greatly appreciated.

There's already a ton of information around these forums about what studios are looking for, posted by people working in studios.

I'd like to see God featured here... just kidding, he's way too busy. Seriously, I think Alan Lee would be a good person to get hold of because he's tricky to interview, OR Syd Mead would be boss!

I'd really like to read a Q&A of Marek Denko, but more so, I think many people would. I think the level of his work is beyond 98% of people in this field and he pays so much attention to detail that his work is unrivaled. I am currently a VFX student about to graduate. The one commonality I've found with students from all around the world is they all know about Marek Denko. Every time we look at his 2006 reel "Moving Stills" our eyes light up in anticipation and awe...that reel still stands despite how quickly the technology advances every year. Moreover, it just goes to show that quality work is quality work, irrespective of when it was made. Technology can help you but that man has raw dedication and a keen eye.

Hi there,
I think John Berkey would be worth to show... also in memories of his death in 2008.
He was for sure one of the greatest science fiction artists.

Must agree with Vampeta, John Berkey was the big artist.
Would be nice to see here Daniel Simons, his work is now in centre of view due the Tron Legacy movie.

Easy guys.
Have you seen what else is going on on CGSociety? Articles, CGChallenges, and books are in production as well. Right now, we have three Meet the Artist possibilities in a line, but the artists are deep in work and will be available after the productions. It's all in the timing, y'know.

I would really like to see interviews with artists that did not get into art until later in life. Such as their mid thirties or later. Most interviews are with people who have been drawing all of their lives and I fully understand why that is, but I think it would be interesting to see a different perspective.

Watch CGSociety over the next week. I have just interviewed an interesting artist who spent most of his working life as a neurosurgeon, and then a motor mechanic. Now he creates the most spectacularly real architectural building creations in 3D. His name? just wait.

I'd love to meet here the artist Maciej Kuciara to learn more about color and lighting, he is a master on it! The other thing that surprises me is his textures and brushwork. Just take a look in his works.
