for first time in 3d i think your work is fantastic...
i know because i am new to this 3d stuff and try a lot to create more realistic stuff
and the result is null...
so i stick to the more cartoony thing that oozes more easily...
FOR THE TIME BEING!...
good luck!!

I'm playing around with the colors. I haven't done any texturing yet. I'm still deciding on her skin color.

Just stopping by to check out your work.. just wondering did you do any rigging with the pose of the body? I really like your work and good luck to you.

handsonfire - I'm kinda new to this, so I'm still learning the lingo. I think I know what you're asking, but I'm not sure. I modeled the character in anatomical position and then placed aramatures. Then posed her using the pose mode in Blender.

Hi Keri,
great start on the model. I just wanted to remind you to really post all milestones, or the work wont be accepted to enter the final judgement... so, make sure you post your concept as well.
Now for a little look over, i maybe try to give you a few points i see, looking at your work.
anatomically the all over appearance looks fine. the details could use a bit a smove out, in general, details appear a bit boxy. i suggest to try to get the maximum out of your wires, before moving to rigging, but i am not sure what application you use. so might be possible to change edges or verts even if rigged already like xsi...
i my start head to feet with a few thoughts:
Head: horns should be more attached, not inset, the continious line looks like its moving inwards (vertical loops that move over the head from frontview).
the ear looks a bit too large in scale.
lips are from sideview a bit too "inset" lay a finger across your mouth from chin to nosetip... see, chin, lips, nosetip alm,ost build a line. that would be the volumecorrection.
jawline could also move a bit "forward" the ending of it should be joining the ear ending of the earshell line.
shoulder looks a bit srtrange, may come from rigging. scapula (the boneplate on the back) looks too quadric, normally is triangular.
upper arm looks a bit too massive, but just a slight bit. if she is a demon, a strong creature, you might define the muscular groups a slight bit, not overdue, that would be quiet unsexy, just a bit... cant see hands very good, so cant say much about them.
leggs, lin the uppe part look a slight bit massive. a bit boxy. maybe smove them out (not much, just a bit more rounded) backside of kneejoint could use a bit definition as well.
if you cant get rigging 100% satisfying, dont worry, if its max, you can create morphtargets, if its maya you can make some blendshapes, or whatever it is, you still can do minor tweaks after rigging, and you still have much time.
of course all my suggestions are just my own personal point of view and at the end just a matter of taste. Hope some of my points are in any way a support to your great work :)
Keep it up, best luck and have loadsa fun!
Cheers:thumbsup:

Not sure if this counts as a concept sketch or goes under modeling. But it was mentioned I need to put the wire frames in. So here's one.

Here is the wire frame of my person unposed.
1st_angel - Thanks for the detailed review of my WIP. I'm working on getting the ear and arm right. I'll try to move the horns. So it's more obvious that the horns are coming out of the frontal bone.

most welcome. don't know if it is a must to submit wireframes, but if you post them, its mostly the level0 (no subdivisions) to analyze topologies, first, for crits and help on possible difficulties, second for less expirienced modelers helps to learn.
Wireframes are not exactly a concept sketch. you may ask a moderator if they accept it as such. If you didnt make one,... belive me, its always worth to take some time and even itf its just rough, to scribble ans rough it out. like a nav map into your own project. doent have to be a painting. and you also can submit milestones as often as you want. Its finally up to the judges if they'll accept it. but if you have a simple sketch or notes or whatever, scan them submit them and doubts are away. :) Just keep it up! looking forward to your next update!

OK, my power adapter broke. So I thought, no big deal, I'll go to the store and buy another one. Only they were 80 bucks at the store. 80 bucks! I found a much cheaper one online, but it took a week to get here. So I haven't been able to work on my picture till now.
Anyway, I've been playing with the lighting. I kinda want a bluish hue to the lighting, something that would represent the moon.

More playing with the lighting. I worked on the textures a bit.
