Is it possible to do Global Illumination with the default renderer for maya, and if so how? I couldn't find any other threads on this so I thought it would be okay to post. Thanks in advance!

There are a lot of plugs and scripts for faking GI i think one of the best method is GI_Joe script by pixho look at www.pixho.com but there is no way to make real GI with the maya renderer

Just download the mel script for gijoe and play around with it, then look at the site to figure out what every setting does.
its quite powerfull and quick to render compared to a real GI
