______________
Reflecting the scene

Well I've been studying how too affect the lighting,, and texture reflections,,, Non of the lights in the scene have specularity on... So what you see in the surface of the car is all reflection,,, I created a few different white cards in the sky,,

One was an upper very large one that was dome like,, but not self illuminated,, I then place a few spot lights pointing at the upper sky white card,,, this would only make soft white areas on that surface.

Second I placed another smaller white card with self illumination,, placed it just above the car,, this one was made for creating harder edges in the reflections,,,

_____________
lights

The lighting was an interesting concept,,,, I placed 4 omni's just above the car,, these will be the only lights that make shadows,,, the rest of the lights in the scene will not...

those 4 lights were placed real close together too make the shadows more soft around the car,,, I then moved them a little closer to one side of the car,, so that one side can have a more darker side.

I then placed the camera looking at one side of the car,, where more of the light will be added,,,

one omin was placed about 45 degrees away from the car,,,

I also controled all of these lights so that the light doesn't pass too far from the car (so the horizon becomes darker)

I then place the second light near the floor but only set too light very little of the underside of the car...

_______________
Run DOWN

4 omni's for shadow from above the car (place them closed together)

2 omni's one up high and one down low... the one up higher is bighter than the lower

Well anyhoo there is some of my ideas

here is a little layout,, this is about 110k,,, they seem too be loading slow today,, sorry

I'll have more too come,, I set the car with a reddish brown color that looked really cool,, and render fine before I went too work,, but my system crashed,, so I got nothing too show yet with that color..

I also plan too slap a racing spoiler on it,, also with a stylized racing stripes,, it should wrap around the hood opening,,

Thats one gorgeous looking car. Is there an actual car you modeled it from, or did you create the design? Looks somewhat like a modified corvette stingray and ferrari hybrid. And as far as the picture size, I for one prefer larger clearer shots, even on 56k. How about trying a hot rod paint scheme with the flames etc.

heya thanks for checking it out,,, I'll have more stuff coming (far as the paint goes) I'm going too make a custom stripe for it,,,

maybe a design,,, not sure,,,,, I might try that fire thing,, sounds like an idea.. =D

yeah its my own design,, yeah it reminds me of a stingray too

... nice and smooth curves - really good work !!

The only thing i would critic is that the car has no bottom... since you are using a reflective ground - you should at least make a big black box with some bump-mapping (or modeled) and it need also two axis between the tyres !

Post more of these cars here...

OK BASSit you got me,,, hehehe

I'll plop out the bottom of the engine,, hehehe,,, I can already see the oil pan,,, I'll probably make some other stand in parts too fill the whole,, My PC can't take much more of it.

(it need also two axis between the tyres) What are you saying,, you lost me...
