View Full Version : Athlon xp 2100+ running at 1500 + (lower speed)

I have an athlon xp 2100+ but my computer says it is running at 1500 +......what could be causing this? I have thought about reseting the bios of the motherboard, because maybe its taking the speed of a previous installed cpu. My only fear is that reseting the bios will force me to format my computer......does someone know for sure what happens when you reset the motherboard bios settings? will this affect the bios and only the bios? and not force me to reinstall everything again?

you just need to change the bus speed in the bios. i think it should be at 133mhz... it's probably at 100 now.

And anyway, resetting bios should not force you to reinstall windows.
