Hey All, This is my first post here, and I'm quite happy I stumbled across this site. I'm a 15 year old who's been playing around with 3ds max for a little while and I think it's time I start something I intend to finish. This site, it's like a gold mine to me, I'm still in awe about the emence ammounts of content here.

To the point, I'm wondering, when one creates a model from a drawing, what is the best way to approach modeling a high quality model in 3ds max? I've heard many arugments about which was works best. To help define what I want, and help not start wars about which is best, I want the method to be good looking, I don't care if it takes me forever to model it, ect. The model would be a human female body, no special aliens or cats.

I really hope this doesn't start any arguments about which is best, so please, refrain for doing so.:shame:

Thanks for any comments, suggests etc.

Just try them all. I'm personally a poly modeler. I just feel like I have the most power with them.

I suggest you go do some tutorials and see what you like the most.

Personally, I don't think you should limit yourself to one type of modelling. I just finished up my first human character model, and I used a combination of box modeling (the main body) poly modeling (the head) and spline caging (certain details, the fingers). Really, the best approach -- especially when you're new -- seems to be to use the most appropriate method for the problem at hand.

Hope this helps!
