at first..
it's tooo blurry....
can't seee anything out of it...
what is it actually?
Hmm. I guess its some sort of walking...organism....with this shell....thing.....on its back. I'm trying to get that shell thing to look shiny, and for the lower body area to have a transparent membrane over it. I'm just trying to get better at lighting and basic painting skills:) :wip:

it makes me dizziy. :hmm:
Well, yes, it's blurry. I haven't refined it yet :wip: . But the basic idea is there, and I wanted some formal crits before I went into it anymore. I'd like comments on which of the two looks people like more. Also, what looks good/bad and why.
another update. Added some highlights/more shading:

Try to make it look more real. Here's how I go about doing this:
First, I imagine what I'm painting as if it's a real object, like a photograph of something in the real world. Then I make my painting look as much like this "photo" as possible.
Hope this helps.
