What other online book stores are there besides Barnes and Noble and Amazon? I'm specifically looking for Inside Maya X book, but can't find it in stock.

Books a Million has it, but they say it's not released until Jan 2003.

Look into Maya 4.5 Savvy. It's the follow up to Mastering Maya 3, which I found to be an excellent book.

How come nobody mentioned Mastering Maya 4. The book cover looks identical to Mastering Maya 3, but different authors. Is the book equivalent to Mastering Maya 3?

I don't want to get the 3 version because it is old and why should I if version 4 is also available.

Like I said, Maya 4.5 Savvy is by both the same publishers and same authors, so I'd assume that it's the true follow-up. I wasn't even aware of a Mastering Maya 4.

i enquired about Mastering Maya 4 and got told that the publisher canned it, and now it goes by the title 'Maya X Savvy'...

I for one, am definitley looking 4ward to this book!!!!

will the book have everything Mastering Maya 3 had and then some or is it just a continuation, meaning what's been covered will not be repeated?

i dont know, but it will be nearly 900 pages in length, so your guess is as good as mine. I personally would think it will be everything relevant from v3 with all the new gear upto v4.5...hence, giving us (the reader) a complete 'bible-like' book finally!!!!

Hope that helps (a little anyway ;) )

Cheers mate...

PS: i was reading a few other posts and noted that u are changing from max to maya...??? what were your reasons??
