View Full Version : UV Mapping weirdness

Hey there. I just finished UV mapping a character using the following method -

Applying an edit mesh modifier, selecting a single piece (hand, leg, arm etc) suitable for a planar map, applying a UV map modifier (mainly used planar maps), applying a uv unwrap modifier and laying the UVs out, and then applying edit mesh again and repeating everything with each piece until complete.

Everything seemed to be working out fine until I was done. I apply one last unwrap modifier to the whole model so I can stitch together each of the pieces, but when I go into edit it every single piece/element has a vertice dragged all the way at 0,0,0. This has happened to me before and I couldn't figure out how to fix it. I'd take a picture and show it but I dont have any image host or anything. Any ideas on how to get around this problem would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Hi mate,

I assume your using 3ds Max version 7. I used to have trouble with this stuff all the time until I realised you can just collapse the stack. Try fixing part of your uv mapping, collpasing the stack (or collpase down the uv mapping and uv unwraps) and unwrap that.
