Title: Eyemotions
Name: Philip Ballinger
Country: Austria
Software: Maya
a logo animation wich strives to capture the origin and development of an idea. i used nurbs cogwheel templates to draw paintfx strokes onto them. the cogs were linked with expressions, so they turn to each other in the right direction. the eye was filmed full frame 2k, output 1:1,85 2k

Looks cool... like quick drawing on old paper...
I would like to see whole animation... any chance u could post the animation?
How did u write the expression for the roatation??
I am tyring to make gears and would like to make them rotate with expressions... linked to each other of course...
Can you tell me how to figure out/write the expression??
It would be really sweet if you could...

This is unique. How did you create this line drawing render? This is way beyond and way more original than plain outlines. To be honest I have no clue on how to achieve this kind of output. Mind sharing your technique?
By the way: I like it very much.:)

wow, excellent stuff. I don't know too much about Maya so the term "templates" doesn't really mean too much to me. The lines are just great though. I guess they are hand drawn and mapped? Be great if you could make a shader with the effect.

if I got him right he modeled it regularly, then he painted the strokes on all the edges (maya paint fx) and there we go

Interestin technique with the paint effects outlining. A bit tedious for my taste (meaning if I'd had to do it). There is a plug for C4D that can produce remarkable linedrawings in this style called sketch and toon. The demo pics on the site look great.
I wonder if there is something similar to this for Maya. It would make this whole thing a breeze.
