View Full Version : either im missing or its not in max 5
little 09-27-2002, 02:29 AM im working on my first real model since going to max 5 and meshtools 3 and i just figured out i dont seem to have edge and ring loop im gussing its because its a default thing in max 5 now but i cant seem to find where its at and how to assign it to my quads any ideas would help

Little, the loop and ring options are in the same area as the command panel(on the right of your screen). As far as assigning to quad, don't know, I'm sure someone will come up with the answer!!:) :beer:

i never used it from the right panel i always just went in and put it on the quad from the meshtools group but now its not in there under customize ui ( i work a lot without the side panels turned on i want as much screen space as i can get )

ActionItems:
Select Ring (Poly)
Select Loop (Poly)

thanks much thats what i needed
now i cant find the connect 2,3, and 4 option that was in meshtools
where you would have 2 edges selected and then conect it in 2, 3, or 4 places i can do it with divide then connect but it was just esier the old way there is just enough things i need to relearn to make it fun and new

*Select two or more edges
*Right-click
*In QuadMenu "tools 2", look for Connect
*Select the [] Box next to the word Connect
*A window pops up asking you for the number of connections
NOTE that the number can be changed interactively - the mesh will preview the effect in realtime, but will not actually apply it until you press OK.
*If you have set a Connection value of, say, 2 and need to connect more edges with the same number of connections, next time just select the word Connect from the menu. To change, select the [] box again....

thanks much im going to lock myself in my studio for a week and just play with the new max i really havnt messed with all the new stuff there is just to much to do all at once
thanks again you really helped me alot
the sad part is as much as i love max i found out this morning that i might have a new job but i would have to switch to maya
