View Full Version : Fragment on collission
Rich-Art 03-29-2005, 05:52 PM Hi to you all,
How can I make particles ( a cube shape for example) turn into fragments when hitting an poly object?
I can make particles shapes turn into fragments on colliding with other particles but I don't get it right on coliding with a Poygon object (a wall for example)
Does anyone have some tips for me..
Thanks,
Peace,
Rich-Art.

You have to make the wall a particle. Just use it as shape and emitt it with zero speed at the original objects position and with its alignment.

Thanks Björn,
Stupid of me not to think that way.
Clever and simpel. You made me happy..

you can of course also use a PDeflector node set to event only to trigger the fragmenting (and thus avoid having to turn your collision geometry into particles).
Fizz, might also work... :)

Thanks,
I will try that to.. (not that I'm an expert with Xpresso) so I don't know of I get it working that way. Björn solutions did the job for me. But I'll give it a go.
Peace,

Hi Kirl,
Fizz won't work, because Fizz only works with the standard emitters of Cinema4D and not with Thinking Particles.
Peace,
