Latest Update: Final Image: thats it!

so thats it.. i'm finally done with this piece ;] in conlusion my idea was to show the contrast and difference between master and the slawe. The guy in the left is the slawe, he's addicted to drugs so he goes straight to the bottom of his life, living in measrable dark flat, which looks more like a hole than a place to live.. the guy in the right is the drug dealer. He sells drugs and in addition he ''controls'' the junkie, who is like a slawe to him.. Often junkies don`t have money to buy a doze, so they give away any valuable thing they have, like that cross, which simbolises faith, beliefs,.. and when the guy in the left gave away his cross it was like he gave up, lost his last hope.. the picture is set like two different rooms divided with a wall, and each room, each character has his own atmosphere, mood.. well, anyway, i enjoyed making this work and i learned a lot;] so thanks everybody for comments and support;]best wishes hope u like it;]

hi all!! This is my concept sketch for master and servant chalenge. I wanted to make something different, unusual in the main essence.. Not authority owned by power, bare streangth or fear, but authority gained by addiction! Something like drugs or any other thing that you could sell your mother for if your addivted to it. The master wuold be the person who controls drugs and the servant is the one who is a slave to them and would do anything for them... With this image i want to contrast and compare these two different states. Hope you like the idea.

Nice concept. It's good to see others thinking outside of the box.

I love the concept, th contract between the two is great.

I dont feel I am anywhere near the ability of most people on here so absolutely nothing from me but admiration.

Nice picture here, and a great idea. The lighting does the trick in here and You have captured it quite well. Hope its not to late but the master could have bigger belly (You know, the one from all the bear :) )

Good luck!

it's nice to see cgtalkers from lithuania;] i tried to make his belly bigger, but it didnt seem to look right, so i decided to go with the small one.. but i liked the beer idea;] i still dont know what to put in his hand, a bootle of bear or a glass of brandy or skotch.. thanks for dropping by Kaksht:)

Kaksht

Hmm, maybe alcohol isnt that good of an idea, cause then he would just look like some drunk man, not a master, maybe some greasie half eaten stake on his legs in a plate or smth like that :)
Allways good to see some more active Lithuanians in this forum, good job and keep it up!

thanks kaksht nice to see you again;] i agree alcochol doesn't look right, so i am going to replace it with some cash, this will both fit right in the image and show more that the guy is the master (he's a drugdealer, the guy on the left is addicted so he gives everyting hes got for a dose..) if someone knows any good ideas how to make the left guy look more depresive and the right more mean and wealthy please go ahead and suggest:)

hmm... the hand is kinda small dude. Why don't you make it rest on the chair or make him hold a ciggarette. About the separation, if this is a camera, then i'd expect to see a thick wall in the middle, you know, how you see it in the movie when the camera pans from one room to another. keep it coming dude.

cheers

the rectangle in the middle is going to be the wall dividing the scene into 2 rooms.. still got make it look like a REAL wall ;] if anybody is wondering: the cross in the masters hand is given by the slawe (you know, when they dont have any money for drugs, they'll give away anything)and it simbolises last hope, faith..
