only a quarter of its original size, but still happy.or morbid.

ok so heres the story.
chased and imprisoned, young igor was.
for years he was locked up for the way he looks.
the years havent been kind to him.
until one day when a kind and gentle doctar came and released him from his chains.
igor swore to follow the doctar through hell and earth.

the two soon started their work.
their work ,to spit at god's eye and bring the dead back to life !!!

i started this model with a cartoonish concept, but due to some perfectionisim on my part he became too realistic

I wasn't saying it as a negative. I'm really impressed by this character. It's very solid. It is on the same level as the human characters in the Shrek movies. The shader on the garments also looks great, but could use a bit of variation in color to show more worn parts.

Nice work Bud!

oh,well.

I will say, don't let it discourage you. I like an entry that actually shows some progress.

At one point there were a few entries with pages of response and nothing done yet. I think it's just that some people see a name and decide to follow that person as opposed to a lot of other good entries. There are over 1,000 entries so don't feel too bad.

You got one fan!:buttrock:
Keep crankin' away!

it is a common mistake to think that frankenstein is the monster, while frankenstein is the dr.
and the monster is called frankenstein's monster.

ok so i can see you are working fast. the characters look good they do have a little cartoonish
style but thats ok if you arent going for 100% realistic. i know you arent in that stage yet but
i would take much time for lighting and color because these scene screems atmosphere! :-)

i was also wondering about your technique- are you going to fully rig the characters and then pose them like in the sketch?

omer.

argiatou gozaimas,
i havent really worked on the enviroment (the lab,or the equipment),i'll probobly take next saturday and work on it with more intensity.

i am modeling these models like every regular model, giving them weight maps and rigging them like any other animation model.

im doing this to get the right feel as i put them in pose.i can easily model them in pose, but its much more right to rig them and then if i need to tweak a bit than i do.

The expression on the mad scientist face looks classic  I'd tone down the volumetrics a bit they seem to have rather hard edges at the moment. Maybe try a closed roof with an openning to which a lighting bolt coul'd be striking one of the cables??...just a thought

Keep up the good work :)

char's story

Dr. Frankenstein

at a very young age he excelled in his studies and showed much promise.
at age 11 was diagnosed with a terminal disease which causes bursts of aging every 15 years.
with his death date already told to him, young frankenstein swore that he would solve the greatest mystory in his way, life and death.

through painful study he found that electricity could induce movement in dead cells, but
something was missing.
something the human body needed besides energy to fully function.
the answer didnt take long to understand, blood.
blood that could transfer the necessary ingrediants through the body and in a enlighted way blood to connect the soul to the body.

frankenstein who was just a scientist couldnt just go and get blood, it would be frowend upon.
so he went to a small prison located just south of his mansion to look for help.
in this prison he found a large prisoner who was sentenced to death for murdering a prostetute.
this inmates name was Vlad.
during his talks with Vlad in the prison mess hall a prison riot uropted.
Vlad tried to kill the good doctar, but a small and hunchy man like person stabbed Vlad and saved the professor.
after this incident the doctar took the small person as his aid, because , well, ... he just killed his first selection.

this small person was infact i'gor, the town fool who was sent to prison for stabbing people in the back with a rusty fork.
igor was so pleased he was released from that hell hole of a prison that he gave his life to the doctar and pledged to follow him.
only after a week of being in his lab did he finally understand the full extent of this work.
