Whats the best way to achieve hi-resolution quality animation besides Production quality in Software render. What Renderer will I use the (software renderer, the hardware or mental ray renderer to achive a great hi-resolution still image or animated reel ?

mental ray and production quality plus high resolution format and some apropirate filters to fit your needs, what's more everything in the scene should be 'high quality' otherwise it will look like crap no matter what resoultion you will set.
