I was playin around with different lighting at the time.
All illustrator, no sketches, clicking in the anchorpoints straight away.

Only thing I can comment on is the background color, should be a couple shades darker. And then the light cast on the back wall sill stand out a little more. Maybe also make the light circle on the wall somewhat bigger as well. I think it will read better.
As always, you have applied a very unique and refreshing way to look at Illustrator, Jer. Your stuff is fantastic.

I definitely like the second one better for drama. The light shining on the back wall was hard to read in the first picture. It looked at first to be a part of the bird, like some bright yellow feathers.
That second one works better.
Jeroentje, your work is fantastic, beer came out of my nose when I saw your website stuff, espically the gun in the box, and the Christ toy. I wish I had illustrator, to try out things like that.
