I think that we are all addicted to the modern technologies especially the mass media such as TV, newspapers, and other.
I want to illustrate this by this guy who’s slave to his own TV.
I think it’s enough the introduction, stay tuned for updates.

true concept. make sure he's watching a C.S.I. show., maybe a shadow of csi reflecting on his shirt or something. I dont mind a little tv. but I cant take the commercials. especially when they hit ou with the same stupid ones. you should have him holding a gun to his head. hehe.
very original though. "Dont miss CSI: Alaska, toronto, chicago & cleveland."

This very interesting one. I am also enslaved by the mass media. Which his/her modelling process?

good start on the modelling man, a little suggestion would be to make the tear ducts slighty smaller. Otherwise keep it up!

Hi el_newty!
Your scetch is very clear. But I think that for such an idea it would be better to choose differerent camera angle - more exciting, more story... Something like dark room and bright hotsot from TV, illuminated eyes or somethinghttp://www.cgtalk.com/images/icons/icon12.gif, wide field of view. So it could be even some sort of tragedy in it.
Will be back to see more of your progress!

see you and   go strong.

el-newty
04-06-2005, 06:05 PM
Crazydesign: Thanks.
Deryk: Thanks for reply. You made a good observation. I think that the camera angle is OK, what I have to do in 3D and I don't managed to do in sketch is the spooky athmosphere (dark room, a lot of dirt and dust, cockroach, etc...).
I'll try to give a hypnotic look for the ilumination that comes from TV.

good luck to everybody!

Hi Arthur,

Nice idea! Good start on modeling, I like that smile... Watching TV with junkfood and a huge smile on the face....sounds good as a master/servant topic. Köszönöm, hogy meglátogattad a threademet. Kitartást és jó munkát neked! :wavey:

Cool concept, and you're model seems to be comming along nicely. My suggestion would be to make his eyes more tired looking (maybe blootshot, with deep bags around them). This would stress the idea that he is addicted to the t.v, and not just watching it. You've already got him heavy and covered in food so the idea is there, but I think it could be pushed a bit further. Alexi

p.s. thanlks for you comment on my thread, in answer to your question I am using maya 6 for all my modelling and rendering, and I used photoshop to composite everyting.

unique concept Arthur........The face is getting there......as for a suggestion at this time I would "Soften" the bags under the eyes....smooth them a touch......Ok...getting there,,,go at it hard Arthur......:arteest:

el-newty
04-15-2005, 06:08 AM
Michael: Thanks, and with the "bags"... I exagerated intentionally to express the addiction of this guy to his TV (long nights... no sleep...). Perhaps I'll reduce them, depends on how it will looks like textured.

Cheers and

Funny and clear idea. It's so clear that I could understand it even from the tiny thumbnail.

Tweak those fingers more around sofa. Fingers are too straight and does not seem to interact with sofas handle too well. Are you going to model more furniture/stuff around the room? I think you should not...but instead of that adjust your lights so there is good contrast between man and dark walls. That way intensity of your image will be greater.

Do not try to show everything you have modeled. Concentrate more to a relationship of TV and man.

Lemog

I totally with Pwallin remarks and especially concernant the relationship between TV/human...
I think that will be much better if the character were much more close to the TV, and with a mode closed framing... more intimist... that give a stronger mood...
Good continuation Arthur :buttrock:

Hi,
Simovici, Diogo and Lemog:Thanks :)
Pwallin: Thanks, I'll fix the fingers to lay on the sofa... more furniture... no, this will be all. The contrast betwen man and dark walls is a very good advice to be taken in consideration, now I think how to do that ;)
Good luck to everybody and
