Hello Guys and Gals,

Capilano College in North Vancouver is looking for an instructor for the Digital Animation program to teach Modelling and Texturing. If you know anyone who is interested in teaching, is a great modelling/texture artist, a Maya expert and available to teach on Mondays from 9:30am to 4:30pm in the Vancouver area then let them know right away that we are hiring!

Job description:
To co-teach DIGI 312 - 3D Design I in the Digital Animation Program at Capilano College. This course develops students’ abilities to design, model, texture and light 3D characters, props and locations using Alias Wavefront Maya and Adobe Photoshop.

Requirements/skills:
The successful candidate must be working as a modeling and texture artist in the animation television or games industries with 3+ years of professional work experience. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
·Proficient in the use of Alias/Wavefront Maya for modeling and texturing characters and locations
·Proficient in the use of Adobe products: Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects
·Strong 2D design and conceptual skills ·Knowledge of production processes for games, television and film
·Ability to learn quickly and adapt course materials as needed by changes in curriculum and industry
·Must be willing to contribute to the ongoing development of the Digital Animation program
·Ability to adapt to ever-changing technologies ·Ability to work unsupervised or in a collaborative, team environment
·Experience supervising or directing computer animation projects as an Art Director

Candidates must be available to teach on Mondays from 9:30 – 4:30pm. Preference will be given to those with animation skills and understanding of Softimage XSI. Teaching experience at the post-secondary level is an asset. Candidates must submit a cover letter, resume and portfolio showcasing their professional experience and artistic skills.
