going through the search i've noticed this has been asked many times.. but i didn't find satisfying solution..

my scene is asking for dll i don't have (i merged few objects from an old scene).. what i'm sure is that there's no objects in the scene that use this plugin (i know i said that i merged them :) but i don't see how this could go through.. materials are clean).. not in the material editor, not in the enviroment or effects, not in render... when i go to file>summary info>plugin info.. it's not listed.. but max is still asking for it.. this prevents me from net rendering..

any ideas how i can deal with this?

ps
it's asking for compshadow.dll .. i think it's shag:hair shadows plugin.. i don't have that plug and neither i used any lights that could reffer to it..

oh yeah.. i'm aware of merge and export/import procedures.. but i'm looking for something more elegant.. i have started building my rig and experience teaches that merging rigs is asking for trouble.. sooner or later.. :)

[edit]
or, if nothing else, is there a way to tell render to ignore missing dlo..
