Joe Angus has entered the Master and Servant 2D.

Challenge Page (http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/masterandservant/view_entries.php?challenger=6758)

Latest Update: Coloring WIP: Background progress

Ive not had as much time as I would like, but never the less... some progress. Ive started plotting out the background how I would like, although very rough, once the detail and design is finalized, I hope it will tell the story of the blind priest, and his dog. Fingers crossed anyway :)

Been thinking about ideas for a few days, here's the prilimiary character lineart.

Once completed, I hope to establish the relationship between the blindman and his dog, with a few twists along the way.

Done a lot more of the dog\\\'s head, tried to add detail where necessary, rather then everywhere. Drawing every straind of hair with my mouse (no wacom:( ), proved to be quite time consuming. Looking good in my opinion though.

u need more well defined highlights to make it look like hair when ur image is reduced.

looks great still though, just make sure u constantly zoom in and out to see what works and what doesn't.

I have never entered a challenge before, after reading the FAQ, it said somewhere about the image size. So the main one is 300DPI 3333px Width, and 4000px Height (I am not sure if I read correctly?). I only reduced the size of the picture for the forums :) as it limits to 1280x1024 or something.

thats not what i meant....what i'm saying is...the things that appair to look perfect in hi res may not be noticable when u reduce the pic.

basically...add stronger highlights to the hair *on the hi-res version* so it shows better when u reduce the image.

understand???

Yeah, ill increase the contrast between hair colours and see how it looks. Thanks for the tip.

As ery as it is, drawing a labradoor guide dog with a blind priest... my golden labradoor had a heart attack last night, and died. :(

So I will be taking a few days away from drawing, as the dog was based upon her. I am pretty sure I want to finnish it, so expect updates at some point :/

Thanks for posting Corey,

Yeah, I do not have a wacom, or any drawing tablet. Just my Logitech Mx510 to keep me going. Seeing that wacom on 6th runner up prize or something is half the inspiration to do the challenge!

Been over a week since ive had time to even look at my peice. Now I have started to set out the priest with just some distinguished colours. I want to think about the facial expression before setting in any details. I think next I will start laying a bit of the background out, even if only rough to start off with. Expect another update soon, I hope.
