Hi folks,

In max 5, when i tried to use the default depth of field(Rendering>Effects>Depth Of Field), I had this funny black outline around my focal node (the object that I chose to be in focus) i.e. the teaopt.

It looks as if a compositing mistake. And I couldn't find a way to get rid of it.

Can you tell me how to avoid that 'Black Outline' around the focal node .......

Thanx in advance.

well.. the render effects DOF isn't much.

it's fast and all.. but it just comes at lower visual quality.
the only thing you can do is to composite you scene different..

or go for a camera DOF instead.. (slower but much nicer)
if you give it enough passes.

if you don't have any other fancy renderes..

Is the Vpost DOF just a simple progressive radial blur? or does it actually work with z-depth and focal lengths? cos I could never get it to work.

Sorry to add to your inital question without any answers. :) :wip:

Email me if you want to beta test my DOF plugin. And if you can promise not to spread the beta.
