Rogério Masao Calmon Miyagi has entered the Master and Servant 3D.

Challenge Page (http://cgnetworks.com/challenge/masterandservant/view_entries.php?challenger=6696)

My concept idea comes from what I think is the most commun relationship example between master and servant, either implitly or explicitly it could be seen everywhere,it can drives ones mind compressed to our oldest parent. The most primitive motive,it can make men frequently behaves unconventionally and some times even submissively.Through some patetic creatures characters representing us,lust men and a beatiful woman with all their well managed power,I'm trying to depict this eternal but nothing boring dependence from men to women that I title "Servants Of the Master Curves".

I'm Brazilian 25, Accidentally chinese food cook that makes 3d in spare nights http://www.cgtalk.com/images/icons/icon7.gif.

My concept idea comes from what I think is the most common relationship example between master and servants, either implicitly or explicitly could be seen everywhere , it can drives ones mind compressed to our oldest parent. The most primitive motive, It can make men frequently behaves unconventionaly and some time even submissively and through some patetic creatures characters representing us, lust men, and a beautiful, sex and realistic (well, I will try it :) ) deity with all their well managed power, I'll try to depict this eternal but nothing boring dependence from men to women that I titled "Servants Of the Master Curves".
I'll be gratefull if you help me with my (WIP) english too.http://www.cgtalk.com/images/icons/icon7.gif) You know, I'm learning it through Maya docs http://www.cgtalk.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Although i've been already working hard in this contest model, I did miss the rule part that say something like -you must post your working in progress-. Unfortunately, though sketches was the thing I most spent time work on, I actually don't have a scanner so I couldin't post my sketches for a while. Fortunately I've been saving my work in several files and in different stage. In fact I'm not really faraway in my project, So I'll start by post my master character wareframe.

The best meal is the one made with love http://www.cgtalk.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Hello,

it looks like a very promising start! However it is hard to judge from an unsmoothed version of the mesh. But I guess you have the talend to master your challenge!

Miyagi
03-27-2005, 11:56 PM
Hey, How are you?

Thanks, for the post. I need to be honest, I didn't post a smooth version yet, because it still looks really strange in this state, but I'm working hard on it and I hope put it sooner.

well, your modelling looks clean, but the concept of your images is still a little unclear, what is the relationship going to be be? who is it whos the master? servant? please clarify a little

i hope you can also get you concept sketches online soon.

good luck

I'am fine, thanks!

Just post a smoothed version, I think the folks around will help you and tell you why it looks so strange...

btw, I could use some chinese recipes :D

 "][ndy" I want my scketch to be the target for a while. But I promise you don't be so vain again, And I will be putting all the progress  , see you!!!
About the recipes, anything:) !!!

Miyagi

tdawg217 , I think it's hardest to model my cahracter in it's final pose , so I'll model it firstly in the standard bind pose > make a simple joint structure > bind it and make a quick skin weight > pose it > bake the pose > and make the final tweaks. that's why you don't find the relationship.http://www.cgtalk.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

I'll stop modeling my Master characters source by now, I'll be doing a simple joint structure to bind and position it on theirs final position by now.
The reason I take care about my characters backside...it's because I like it!!! Well this isn't lie at all, but the really reason it's because I decided to put two more master characters on the foreground altar-like. I'll be putting a new sketch about this and another changes sooner.

Virtuoso: HI Madic, thanks...I'm glad you like it...I'm doing my best:thumbsup: .

Versiden: Thanks Sen, I'm first fighting some SSS tests, this kind of shader contributes a lot for the soft aspect.

DimitrisLiatsos: Thanks Dimitris! I was very much concerned about loops,UVs and performance while modeling, just to make life easy.

rattlesnake: thanks Jorge! I'm doing my best.

Maxko: Hi Maxko, thanks for crit...I do have a spec map already, maybe is about the weight.I'll try to improve that.

Hey, Great textures :D

I've seen only the start of the modeling, but it looks great now.
I specially like her mouth. It looks so real.
The eyebrows are a little like painted... add some more specular and make it just a little darker.

The skin is very good (think about darker nuance on the top of the nose, or it will look like glowing) :)

Very interesting concept!
Waiting for more :)

Sorry the lateness of my feedbacks I'm having some dificulties to get a connection.

Hey Gurellier...thanks! good luck to you too and ever going.

smaddl nothing fancy...I'm using Maya and it is a eyebrow paint effect that I converted to polygon then I did some tweaks. But I think I'll be paint it in the head color map, cause it lowered render performance a lot and it will be at relative distance.

Wandddo you right...it seems to flat her face a bit thanks:thumbsup: . I'm sure you are not a dark man:rolleyes: ... by the way Where did that angelical creatures come from?

Atra thanks for crit...you right...for some reason my eyebrow spec was at low value I did correct that:thumbsup: . About the nose I think it was about my too strong key light.

safe05 thanks I'm glad you like it.

WOW I really missed something.

very good idea with the mouth. It looks more like a master now :)

She is really attractive!

Yes, post a hair close-up :)
I am also interested.

And a little advice. If the toes will be seen, change hteir shape a little more. They are a nuance too simple when I look the rest of the body.

Lemog thanks for coming and crit:thumbsup: ...It isn't my intend to accurate characterize it, I'm just experimenting...I'll go by this for a while, cause I have a lot to do yet...the others character, environment and so on...I better do it before it's to late...when the water get quiet I'll do some geisha researches.

manikantkujur thanks mate!

smaddl Hi Smadar! thanks:thumbsup: ...I didn't work on expression things yet... about the hair, it's been dificult to render a satifatory hair closeup, even with it in low values and hair alone...fortunately it will be seen from relative distance...maybe later.

atra thanks for coming Maja! Yeah i give her a extra punch and now it are more related to my final picture...I'll go to environment stuff for a while.

Great texture work Miyagi  I'd experiment with the rocks specular maybe increase it a bit you can get some nice highlights on the sharp areas. The wood material could use some color variation...try some sort of noise procedural with dark / light brown colors.

Really like how you made the grass too. :)

The scene will look a lot different with some background. Maybe post a version with a similar color to the end version? It will help with the c&c.

Hi black! thankls mate:thumbsup: I was concerned to place her such way cause it requires more texture details so larger resolution are needed and I've been having so much dificulties to render my scenes already, even breaking it up with render passes, anyway it is my master character and I don't find a better way to do it.

Hi Madic thanks mate! I'm really working hard on this project...I'm glad your liking it:thumbsup:

E ai wandddo! valeu a força, I really don't know if I can do it in time...anyway I'm doing my best to:wip: .

E ai Diogo bele! thanks mate!

To gostando bastante Rogério. Bem interessante o estudo da composição. :bounce:

I'm going with just 3 directional light setup for the sake of simplicity and rendering performance.

After about a zillion of crash render I decided to lower my final image resolution so I finally get fighting my final composition.
Any crit are more than welcome.

i'm so sorry Miyagi  . i try but the link seems to be broken. your last update looks very nice. delicate design and colors. the characters are great but i don't understand what the little character is doing. it seems like he is holding the girl's foot, but i don't know what is that round shape. maby because the image is small, maby it just me..( i sometime don't get things right). anyway it's a very fine work. i'd like to see your last version. why won't you upload it here?

I like this image it is very poetic and a bit sexy. I would have add more contrast it was my image, but that's just my opinion. It is like that too.
Good luck.

David.

I am SO sorry for not being around in your finalising your entry!

The composition is wonderful and the elements it is composed of are definately carrying the burden a piece such as this one offers.
It is full of details on every corner with a little story of it's own...

I understand your concept much better now.. and am very glad you managed to put it all together in time for the entry.
I wish you the best of luck in the next step of this competition!

Good Luck!

alex.h thanks mate:thumbsup:

DaVee Hi Daved thanks for coming and crit:thumbsup: .I thought I could gave it more contrast, but I think the composition lines are handling well the attencion...not to mention the natural woman curves powers:eek: ...And it was my intention to give my scene elements
more dispute power.

ilusiondigital thanks Victor, I did my best:argh:

BlackDidThis thanks mate:) Maybe I was too subtle but everything I put in this image was there for a reason...the fishes patterns, mountains shape, props, everything are there for support my concept idea...for instance Take I look at my waterfall background alone, I'm sure you'll find there some knowing things, for some strange reason I just can mention on this thread:rolleyes: , but still very related to my concept idea:) ...

pierre_bixquert Hi friend, thanks:thumbsup: , I'm glad you like it....after all the best thing here are met all this kind people and cgTalk about our passion.
