This is a close up view of the first dog. I put a lot of detail in its nose to make look like he is perspiring.

I am working on the line art to fix his form and prepare for digital painting. There does not seem to have much action now, but the environment will deffinelty add more to it. The rider and runners will be comming out of the forest to face an open plain where a sunset lights the way. Although with the current prospective shown above, the plain will not be seen. Instead, you will see them just exiting a forest with the tall mountains highlited in red snow. Red from the sunset.

The rider wears a spandex suit to limit wind resistance.

This is the environment concept I will use for my painting. The Alaska mountians are highlighted in the setting sun as the rider and runners try to keep pace with it. They do not want to loss the light so they must keep running.

I am still deciding weather I will use a wide landcape painting or a portrait. Either way I will show the distant tall mountains. What do you think?

This is the underlying fur color for the Husky. I like it so far.

The nose is great... As is the fur and the expression. I just want to pat him all over the head and scratch his belly and say "Who's a good boy?" in a silly voice! :-) The colors, though, seem a bit saturated to me. I'm not sure what you're shooting for, but it might look more realistic (if you want it to) with less of a bright pink and blue. Also, it feels odd that the pupils of the eyes aren't in the iris's center, when anatomically, they should be. But I'm also picking at small details because you've shown a close-up. I doubt the irises will matter that much in the whole larger scale of things. What will show up is how happy he looks, which for this challenge is a pretty novel master-servant relationship, which is cool. Nice work.

Fur is looking great! Still needs highlights and such obviously, but it's coming along well!

wow, thats pretty amazing details you are putting into the husky... looking great man.

just 2 crits(hope you dun mind), i agree on the guy's anatomy being alittle off. and also the eyes of the husky looks too much in focus, making it look like its floating ontop of its sockets instead of in them.

can't wait to see the final image soon man. **thumbs up**
