I recently got a Canon Digital Rebel for a graduation present and I would like to start shooting my own textures. I was wondering what are the essentail things to know about shooting your own textures with a Digital SLR, and what sort of photo's are used over and over in creating new texures? I know that I should shoot some grunge maps of dirt/concreate/peeled paint, but what other advice could you give a guy just starting out. (from the photography end, subject or technique). Thanks :)
