Latest Update: Final Image: done
The civilization finally has dominated the barbarian world…
Nature has been subjugated to a human…
Tamed panther now obediently lying near the feet of its master….
No hierarchy…no oppositions…no contradictions…What else can he desire?
Nothing more can be done…
The harmonious world reveals its beauty to the victorious king…
Yet… the emperor realizes that it is not end at all….
He desires more and more to protect his power and show his greatness to the world… …And he knows that although the sun covered the land with light and peace…it will not last forever…the wheels of hierarchy must be in motion…
Okey here's the start. I love CONAN movies and it's something that inspired me. Sketch is really, really loose. There's king sittingt on the top of the hill (palace stairs) on his right there is black panther lying. They watching sun goes down over land his ruling.

I like your color palette!
Real medeival atmosphere...
But as for me it would even better that you add some more story to it. I mean more events to happen in a way that spectator would be involved more (something happening far away or a king facing REAL HUGE problem:)
Keep up a good graphic!!!
don't hesitate visiting my M&S page (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=224116)
oki doki I've started to model the king.

This has deffinetly got great potential... nively proportioned and very flowing modeling well done. how much detail are u going to go into?
I will try to do it quite much detailed, anyway I will try ;). I'm a bit afraid about rigging and texturing but will see what will happen.

good work, i really like the panther, thought the paws could do with some work. I think the king is nicely proportioned though some of the muscles (the arms particularly) seem to stick out a bit too much, toning them down a bit should help to make it look a bit more natural. thats all though, i'm looking forward to seeing how it progresses:thumbsup:
starting modelling throne area.

hows everything comming along?
I'm not sure if I'm gonna make it but here's throne view (3h playing with terragen).I think I will add some columns as railing in front and start finishing king and panther.

Great terrain, the lighting's soothing. Maybe chip away a bit at the trone so we can see a bit more of the king?

You did a fine job, you just need to add some other small areas of interest. Maybe a sidetable or stone pot for a plant. Good luck.

Very beautiful, the temper of image looks so sad but also so grand, the backgroung gives the warm feeling to me... good job and good luck...
decided to go witg bald king. I got huge render times with hair and could make it look nice.Anyway this way no one will say that it's Conan =)
I added blossom tree, now will put few flowers lying on the ground.

Hi, can you me explain why is the landscape so emty?
05-12-2005, 01:27 PM
nice, really nice idea but maybe the shadow shall be little more soft? What do you think?
now, are shadows soft enough?
navylete, I will try to do something about empty environment but I'm not sure if I got enought time for it.

Nice feelings on this picture. Great pose of the animal. My crit would be that there is 2 much difference on the background (very realist) and the foreground (character+house) less realist.
Good job so far.
Vincent, you're right about the difference but truth is that I have no clue what I can do about it  .I guess I was staring for too long at this image.
what about something like this?
05-12-2005, 05:57 PM
try to catch to do something with the landscape. its looking like two separate pictures now. try to do any things connecting the landscape with the foreground. may be the patch leading from the house the man is sitting or pieces of braked walls or something..... good luck
okey I was trying to put something insiede environment but I didn't like it. Well I was trying but time is up for me =(. So here's final.

Congratulations. Good scene.

Nice job on your final image. I think the grass lands in the background look fantastic, you did a really good job with the atmospheric perspective and the lighting effects. Over all the lighing is very soft and calm, and it gives the piece a feeling of peace and tranquility. Gerat stuff. Alexi
