Since I am transfering from max, I have learned most the interface in Maya and general poly editing I can model, but I haven't grasped the simple thing like making a Copy/Reference.

so that when I model my body/head or what ever is symetrical I can see a somewhat preview of my ideal finish.

Can someon etell me how to Mirror a model to reference? so I can work on only one side for editing, or point me to a tutorial that may tell me. I searched for tutorials, I can find lots about how to MAKE the heads, but nothing that tells me in maya how to mirror somethign for reference.

I have tried Copy'ing to a reference, but it doesn't actually mirror it, I rotate but its all upsidedown then. :(. .

either scale the half in x,y,z (or whatever is the axis your head points) to -1 to get the mirror or under Polygons>Mirror, Polygons>Merge Cut(symetry) or Smooth Proxy with mirror

Thanks the mirroing worked for me good. When I used poly/mirror, it would weld them together, which sucked hehe. Buth just making a dup/ref and -1 on the set worked good. thanks.
