Hi,

this is my first ever model, it has taken me 8 months working on it from researching images/modelling. its the pug 206 wrc 2003 car and its my first ever 3d model. the interiors and exteriors are completed, just have to model the interior of the door. anyway my problem is texturing the stickers. i was texturing fine until i noticed a problem last night. on the side of the rear spoiler are the marlboro stickers, if i rendering without mesh smooth the decal is straight, just how i want it (image 2) but when i add a mesh smooth, the decal warps and is on an angle? (image 3) what do i do? i havent encountered this problem with the rest of the other car. another pro online suggested that i should unwrap mapping after i apply a mesh smooth, is this correct? could someone help me? itts irritating to see this happen

cheers.

Sometimes subdivision (Meshsmooth) will cause UV distortion. Either fix the low-res cage model, or UV after subdividing. The former is preferrable since you may want to subdivide the mesh highly for closeups. But it can be difficult to solve in some cases.
