Hello all, Good to see alot of familiar faces (so to speak) back in the grind, and a whack of new ones too.

Good luck to everybody!!...I'm away from home for a couple days for the easter holiday but when I get back home I'll have some sketches done up to post...untill then.

Well, it's a few days late but here it is, the concept for this new contest to see who is worthy of the grand prize!
I was trying to go for originality on this one, I've seen this sort of thing happen to people and it's not an easy concept to grasp for alot of people, but it's a very serious fact that takes place in the world around us. Addiction is the worst enemy alot of us could have, it can tear you apart or even kill you. but i;m not trying to give a lecture or open anyones eyes, I'm just trying to put my veiw on the idea we've been given.
I know it's not a big burly monster or some kind of robot being controlled but I thought it was a pretty fresh take that not alot of people would think of or try and put down on paper anyway, so here you go, please let me know your thoughts.

thanks

Interesting concept Ryan. I would over-alp an item or two in the foreground. They are all neatly seperated. Allow some objects to move off the picture-plain as well. Good drawing and concept. Keep em comin'

Sideache- Thanks mate, yeah I know what you mean the tie string and the saringe look like they're floating, and I'll add in some misc. papers, maybe some rolling papers or a bag weed or something, thanks for the input though, it is greatly appreciated.

more to come--later

Just to add something else, Iwas mainly trying to get the concept across here, the arangement of the table top will probably be totally different, I was mostly trying for the painful expression of this young junkie.

Should have the black and white up by the end of the weekend.

Not real impressed with the progress so far, can't get the right feel I'm going for. But here's most of the black blocked in, I;ll give it a break and come back, just not feeling it right now.

Anybody got a Sketch Tablet I can borrow this mouse s--t is pissing me off!

Some more rough colour blocked in, I decided to fight with it some more, starting to feel it a little more now.

But I think that's it for now, get back in a day or two, start working in the details>>mostly out of pure laziness, it is sunday after all.

Hey thanks NOOB! I never thought of that one, I thought of a side view showing his whole body but I thought it would take away from the focus of the "master" part of the idea, the stuff on the table would be too small. But that's a good idea a worm's eye view, I'll play with that one tonight and see what happens, thanks man!

hey mate..good to see your entry, been so swamped haven't had time to look....the pose is great reaslly tells a story..what will really SELL this one is MOOD and right use of directional lighting I think..for your coloring that is...for your shading something heavy from above, and a good contrasty darkness in the shadows...this is just my first impression...I haven't looked for more than 5 minutes.....I will be here for any help you need though man...from here on..
