That's pretty fun. I see a story there where the two beings are talking. But I would make them human to keep within the requirements. Also, the creature shape is a little hard to discern with all the details sticking out, so maybe you could tone those down a little.

Otherwise, I think you have a good start!

at first thought, the huge machine looked like a huge piece of metal tied to a string. You should make the bot look a bit more articulate, and the restraint has to be a bit more sturdy. Other than that, your colors are starting to form very niceley.

nice concept rough. do the rules state that in the "master and servant" relationship, that ONE must be human? not just 'huminoid'?

you may want to refer to the FAQs before you get too involved.

"Q: Does one of the characters in the Master and Servant relationship need to be human?
A: Yes - absolutely. One of the characters needs to be human - doesn't matter whether he/she is the master or servant."

Great start! Very simple composition, easy to read, and interesting design to the servant. Looking forward to more concepts :)

Yup, one 100% human is required.
Very nice work, though (and you might want to add a human being somewhere, maybe bried in the sand ;-))

hehe. human isnt problem...and maybe he adds some humour too, cause, i dont belive that pure human can handle sucha hardware :D

I like both your sketches! yeah the second one fits more with the theme. there is more emotion!

ChristianHammer
03-28-2005, 11:31 PM
There is some simple beuty to the first concept but the 2nd has emotion that is lacking in the first. No idea what the story is but it has motion and seems a bit whimsical which I always like.

Nice sketches(Wow,am i original there by saying that:D )second one has got some nice warm colors and it's quit fun because it's hard to say who's the master.
Nice start and have fun,man!!!

Hi,

just stumbled over the same "rules" problem, maybe the story will catch it again
I like the new sketch of yours. I immediately had the idea of some sort of race. Maybe
this could transport your Master & Servant story...

I like the reverse idea of Master and servent, when you have that little guy swinging it is like asking WHO is realy in cahrge.

g-nome
03-29-2005, 10:37 AM
yesyes, thats the point (that little guy is tha master) but i think there is no strong "emotional portrayal of the master and servant roles"
i should follow thos challenge guidelines.

heip, fellow, good to see you in action. Consepts are technicli very nice but would like to see little bit more story and emotional stuff.

Kait, I really like your design and composition for the dog robot... more than the one you chose to move forward with...

But if you stick with the one you have, my suggestion would be to zoom in on her a bit more, so you don't have a ll that dead empty spca on top...

Good luck,
Bruno

Ook then, slowly comes together. added some details and moved that guy littelbit. comments are very welcome at this stadium.

I agree 100% with moving the guy. Also I agree with zooming in some to get rid of the dead space. Think about giving some gesture to the female bot's head. Maybe a tilt to one side.

*chuckles appreciatively* And what exactly is their Master/Servant relationship when he isn't having her slaughter legions of (insert whatever that mound of bodies is composed of)?

Interesting concept--you did mention that one of your strengths was "naked chicks," so it's good to see that you found a way to work that into your piece--and I really like the colors. The warmth contrasts nicely with the fact that she's obviously a robot. You also nailed the "casual lounging gamer-boy" pose with the little dude.

I am somewhat confused by the fact that he's looking-straight-ahead, though. Is there something offscreen that he's about to sic her on? If so, would having him evilly hunched over his remote, glaring up at the next target suit your purposes better? Or are they done for the moment, leaving him free to leer sideways at her?

Hi g-nome,

maybe if you give this little guy a screwdriver or gripper in his hand & if he would aim more for the female bot and here spare parts this would give the image more of master & servant I think... but only my humble opinion.

thanks. very good advises and i will do so. that screwdriver idea is good too...like, he isnt a contoller anymore. but if hes some kind of repairing dude...whole picture will chage. hesnt master anymore. i dont know do i want that.

hey dude, very good progress so far but I have some suggestion alsou. First the compositon zooming would be quite good idea, right now the whole thing is too far away. Dedailing is good but thing a little bit more about context. What I mean with that?, so if you are thinking about that little pervert guy (controller goy :P) and about his condition, how exited hi could be, i think he more likely to be a lot sweating. (sry for my missunderstandable english). Enyway, i think that the skin of that little guy would be sweating a lot more, in the condition where he is and there fore skin would be mo shiny. Ok enought about that srewating stuff:P, the metal is coming out very nicely, just keep working ang we will see very good result out of here. :wise:

Looks great man! I think that you should make some lightbeams perhaps? Some cross vertical beams striking down from the skies on the woman, would work nicely as opposites to thoose horizontal powerlines you have. Keep it up! I really like you'r colorscheme on this, it fits the mood of the picture nicely!
