Vedran Klemen has entered the Master and Servant 3D.

Challenge Page (http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/masterandservant/view_entries.php?challenger=6626)

Latest Update: Final Image: Final picture
http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/9/6626/6626_1115041909_medium.jpg (http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/9/6626/6626_1115041909_large.jpg)

I have changed the color of the fur. Few words about the compositing. It's a little mix of several compositions. Picture have central composition because of the plants in the middle of the scene, there is atmospheric composition with the fog, diagonal composition (red cubes in diagonal). Here is little composite effect. Right side of the picture is "de facto" in the dark. Left side is set on the light. Right side have sharp rocks, left side have rounded rocks. Boy is on the darker side, plants and fly are on the side with more light. I've got small contrast based on psychological thoughts...

Thanks.

The plants are eating the flyes, so the boy can read his comic-book hush.;) I believe the idea will be nice in 3d... Thanks for any replyes.

Very nice sketch. Im not sure tough, if folks will actualy see that relationship between the plant and the boy without explaining. Perhaps there is some other tasks that plant could do for the kid to make servant role more obvious?

Looking forward to c your models.

This is not a 10 minute animation. It's' a static scene (very static). So i have adjusted to that. Thanks for your comment, however.

Displacement is used to the first texture (the desert texture), and the background mountains texture... The bump is going on the round orange rock textures... The chair texture is my photo of the real chair and The seamless of textures of the desert and a chair is made in Photoshop with the help of the offset filter (Filters-Others-offset).

Various lights setup. All lights are directional lights. I use generally two lights from the source (sun), with various directions, and one strong backlight. Here is my guess of the lights in scenes. The first scene from the left, the boy is too much expressed next to the other objects of the scene, but the plants are in some kind of mood. The second light scene, where the boy is lighted well, the plants, i think, are little too much in the dark. I loosed a story with the fly... The third light was very interesting to me because the main focus is on the wings of the fly and makes special volumes of them. But i wasn't satisfied with the shadows in that scene. There are no shadows almost. With the fourth light i was very satisfied with how the first two plants and the rocks in the background are rendered, but the boy was lighted a little "strange". I am sticking to the last light for now. That was most closer for what i want. I don't want to shadows eats my polygons.

Some of tests renders. A different color textures for the plant, lights, and slowly compositing a scene. This files I also used for the comparison with the newer file renders. Then I saw am i going in to the right direction...

Thanks man! Good luck to you too. I am trying to get the work cleaner as possible. That will be possible in high resolution. The 3D is similar to the 2D, knowing the limits of the media (3d program)... C ya on the web!

Well, here's two colors of the same fog. I'll stick to the violet. I like the green fog more, but with the idea of the type of clouds i got, violet will doo more to the balance between the sky and the ground objects.

Hey Mike. Thank you for the support. Boy's imagination is the servant, that is the feeling of the image, but not the story. The story is that the boy cannot read if he will had no flytraps around himself, because flyes would botherd him alot.:)
Thanks.
