This is the first idea I had, derived from an old drawing I made before.

Working on the color and BG, but not at all happy with BG, and am working on different poses..

Much more happy with this composition, style and feeling. I think it also portrays the master\servant idea better.

what's up dude
nice sketch. yeah, your new one is a lot better. I like the choice of the angle of you shot and the way you are showing their relationship. Can't wait to see this one in colour (okay, that was a later reply for me) Good thing you can edit your post, hehe. keep it coming.
cheers,
Archie

nearing completion pretty fast, just working on the final details. Would like crits on the skies .. Have also thought about making the fortress a ruin, thought it might make the pic a bit more evocative.. thoughts, anyone?

Went back and tried out the ruin concept, and I think this works better, so I've redone the whole thing. I think this leads the focus much more to the subjects, instead of the view being dragged to the great fortress, which should only serve as BG anyway..

Decided to set aspect to 4:3, as it feels a bit better on the eye, and guides the view further to the subjects.
