I have a few questions about exporting 3D models from computer games or the Playstation 2 game disc:

Which software can help me to export those model?
Can we export them into .obj?
What game does the export support?

That's all. I have used MilkShape 3d, gmax, I have no idea how to use them.

Then learn, and practice :D

Off the top of my head, you should already be able to open MD2 (quake2), MD3 (quake3), basically any game that uses id's quake engines. Milkshape's website has a big long list of all the game models it can open.

Games based on the Quake# engine use PAK files that is basically an archive of models and textures. You need a program to unpack those PAK files. Do a search for "PAK file extractor" or something to that effect.

If you already have a game in mind, go to their website, even better if they have a community of mod makers. That's the best place to go to find the tools you need.

*** I feel obligated to say this: if you extract models/textures from commercial games, be a little careful with how you use them. There's always a small chance they'll come after you legally.

you dont need a pak extractor.

RENAME the file from .PAK to .ZIP. Nuff said.

There are cases where developers remove the header from the PAK file which makes it non-readable via ZIP/RAR. But in most cases it is just renamed. Not sure how much of this is done in Quake files, but if the renaming doesn't work, most likely a pak tool is needed. (by the way, the header is probably altered by just tweaking few bits and it is easy to get it back if you know zip format. Don't need a tool for it either).
