View Full Version : still: Tracked Vehicle
daltonmonaie 09-25-2002, 06:17 PM It's a part of a big project... :bounce:
A Question: Does someone knows how to make the "scouts" of the tracks?

yeah i think he is talking about the trails of this vehicle! maybe do a render of your tracks and then use this as a bump map for the ground behind the vehicle.
I think this will do!

Cool looking vehicle! Yeah I think the textures of your terrain could use a little extra attention..
As far as the trails go, I guess it would really depend on how much detail you want and whether or not this scene was animated. Assuming its a still, I would simply make your ground a multi-layed texture map with depressed bump map for the tred pattern and a bit of painting to mess up the snow a bit around the tracks. maybe even add a bit of crude geomoetry to simluate snow "pile-up" on the sides...

not bad, but the environment still needs work.
The vehicle looks like it is floating. Maby tweak some lights so that we get a little bit of shadowing around the base?
Overall, modeling and textureing are good.

i was thinking of adding some particle systems, like have some snow fog on the DL, or make some snow kickup, something to show movement along the surface:shrug:
