I'm working on a still scene with a glass in it, but im not sure how to make the glass texture. I tried using a phong and making it slightly transparent, but it just doesn't have the glass effect. What do i need to do?

Use a Blinn, turn on raytraced refractions in the blinn attributes (Raytrace options). Make your Refractive Index 1.5. Play with your Transparancy, Specular and Surface Thickness tell you like what you have. To render it you need to turn on raytracing in the render globals.
