I have yet to see this here on CGTalk, Wacom Europe announced the Volito2 (Link (http://www.dpreview.com/news/0503/05032402wacom_volito2Favo.asp)) A6 sized tablet to be priced at £35.99.

My scratched up, manky old Graphire2 is starting to look really old... this has double the pressure-sensitivity levels and it looks a hell of a lot more slick. the pen rest should be a nice addition, too.

Even more intersting (to me at least) is the release of the FAVO, the first bluetooth version of the Wacom. I've dreamt of not having to be attached by cords...25 hour use between charges..nice:thumbsup:

Its nice to see Wacom's marketing department bringing the price down on their products. I have been amazed at those who comment that they do not already use a pen tablet for at least some aspect of their 3D work.

ZBrush would be a lot less fun without my Wacom!

Am I right, Meats!?

Hey Steevo! Nice to hear from you....

For sure - working with programs like Zbrush or Photoshop would be nothing without the Wacom. I wonder what the next generation of input devices will bring?
Tactile feedback? VR style gloves? Smell-o-vision?

Might get me one of them, the pen looks much better than the plastic one you get with the first volito, and the price is very nice.

I lost my Graphire3 pen a while ago... This article reminded me I need to get another.

Damn! Are these pens expensive or what? It's almost a better deal to get a whole new tablet.

Some of these lines are just different names for different areas of the world.

I'll wait for reviews for that bluetooth wacom - If it lags even slightly, I'd hate to use it. I once tried one of the first Cintiqs and it really sucked, cause it slightly lagged behind your strokes.

Wireless tablets would be very cool, but it should be "perfect", without lags or whatever. Otherwise, I'd stay with my Intuos2 :)

A few years ago Wacom introduced an LCD screen tablet (forgot the name) that looked like the 'next thing'. An expensive next thing, unfortunately. No matter how natural the feel of the pen and the pressure sensing, you are still drawing in one place and looking in another. The screen means you can see what you're drawing ON the tablet. That sounds ideal.

Of course, so did the Wacom 'airbrush'. I paid $100 for that thing, figured after one career as an airbrush artist it made sense, but used it once. Here it sits for years.

sure, if you have the money. Wacom site (http://www.wacom.com/lcdtablets/index.cfm)

It's a bad sign when the first link is 'how to lease'

i meant the Volito, not the cintiq, i don't do enough 2d work to justify the cost of the cintiq, it's a great deal if you can afford it though.

25 hours between charges (when it's new) would soon reduce to 24, 23, 22 hours between charges. That means you'd have to charge it up every day. That might get annoying.

Painter is completely worthless without a Tablet. I would even go so far as to say that Corel needs to put a disclaimer on the box: "This product does not work well unless you own a Wacom".

Just ordered my new volito 2, I hope it is better than the volito I already own, but looking at the specs and the new pen I feel this will be a good purchase.....I can't wait...I want it now!
