My current assignment involves a rather complex non-ogranic model in high poly. I don't have an extensive knowledge in the area of rigid modeling, so I'm wondering, you got any tips and tricks that helped you?

I can't seem the get the "edge-loops" right, parts of the model looks fine but other complex and detail dense areas get very frustrating. I tried to make to make different floating meshes to build up the details, but that looks ugly.

Got any wireframes, resources, tips, tricks or any other useful information to share with you? :)

Thank you!

YEah I had the same problem few days back. Apparently, when you build organic models you place edge loops to facilitate deformation and wringkles. But in a non-organic model, edgeloops are place where the manufacturing seams will be. Being that. It is mandatory that you have some sort of reference showing it as many angle as possible.

Try lookin at car seams or your toster seams. It really does give you an idea how you would build it if you were to reverse engineer it.
