Hi, I was hoping if anybody would help me with volumetric translucency. I watched the siggraph video where Taron demonstrated volumetric translucency combined with a gradient on his model. Could anybody tell me how to achieve this effect?

thanks for the link, I tried it..but I didn't get the desired result. I don't really understand the instructions..i't would be great if somebody could post pictures of the right settings, or even make a video tutorial..i'm a newbie http://cgtalk.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Have a look at the character in BoxController_Sample in the latest update (M:S2.2). Try to render it, then examine the skin_1 material.
