View Full Version : Can Lumas react to GI?
hundredthirtyseven 03-24-2005, 06:27 AM The question is simple: I have a simple GI setup. There is only a Floor and a Sky in the scene and a Sky has a material with an HDRI in the luminance channel. Quite simple. There are no lights in the scene.
I'd like to create a metallic cube in this HDRI environment but it seems that the Lumas effect only reacts to lights and can't react to light emitting surfaces. Is this observation correct?

that's right. Use a light source emitting only specular, check no diffuse.
