View Full Version : The mojoman
Here's a little character created for a school assignment. Most of the time was spent on the skeleton and deformations. Software used was Maya Unlimited 4.0
He needs some minor refinements and a proper environment.
Now he is one hell of a cool looking character :) Great work nice pose too! Nothing to crit

Great work! All you need now is a disco ball and one of those disco light up dance floors! He reminds me of the guy with the goldfish tank shoes in "I'm gonna git you sucka!" ahh, great movie...
thanx for the positive feedback! I think i might try maya fur for the hair, but i fear that it might be too realistic compared to the rest of the character. I'll check out some possibilities..

That dude is freakin hillarious. What a character! I cant wait to see him move. I dont know about the fur idea, he looks awesome the way he is. Just get that hair to jiggle or bounce a little when he moves. He sort of reminds me of a video game character, the huge afro guy in that boxing game. 'Rumble' something. I cant remember.

He sure has loads of personality. I can definately envision him in motion. Great stuff.
i'm very glad people like him:)
I'll probably keep him as he his and focus on some animation instead.
The modeling was done in a few hours. I put a lot of time into his skeleton and tweeking the deformations though. Since this is my first character setup with Maya, it took some extra time to get it right. I worked part time on this dude for a couple of weeks, most of the time was spent on learning the technical aspects of maya.

Great work, I appreciate seeing the work posed also. If I had to make some type of nit picky criticism it would be to recommend removing the peace emblem. The disco era wasn't real big on mixing the paraphernalia of the preceding hippy era.

Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting
Those kids were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightening
But they fought with expert timing
