CGTalk - Wacom and Photoshop

Hi everyone,

I just got myself a wacom tablet and I'm mostly using it with Photoshop.

I got a question... Is there anything to do about the little hang from Photoshop everytime I start a line ? I mean Photoshop kindof do something for a milli-second when I start painting and then it snaps to the cursor, creating an unwanted straight line...

Is there anything to do about it beside changing my computer... :p I have Win 2K with 750mb RAM and a 850 mhz PIII.

That's not your computer, I've used a tablet on far worse systems than that with no problems.

Firstly, go to www.wacom.com and get yourself the latest drivers.

Then, in your driver's control panel make sure you turn off "double click assist". Also set the tablet mode to "single mode (no dual track)".

Make sure the tablet is in pen mode, not mouse mode.

Finally in Photoshop turn off "smoothing" in your brush options. Also go to the View menu and turn off "snap".

Hopefully one of these steps will cure your problem :)

It was most likely the double click assist that was causing the problem.
