Latest Update: Concept Sketch: Lets Play Master and Servant

Thank you everyone for the kind words! It's good to know someone's interested in my 'art' lol

Anyways, this is the concept I will be working on and will hopefully finish before the end date of this challenge ;)

This idea has been going around my head for a couple of years now, it is supposed to be a portrait of me and my boyfriend, but in the end it might only carry some sentimental meaning and no resemblence to the real us.

I figured a Master and Servant relationship centering around love and devotion to the other is a more 'original' concept, where we know who serves the other, but we also know the places can change.

The colors will all change later on, I'm not sure if I should keep the composition as it is... BUT the pose of the girl won't be changed anytime soon, maybe I'll play with the placement of the cyborg-suit-thingy.

Comments much appreciated! :D

I have so many ideas floating about in my brain, but I am sort of leaning towards doodle number 2 - it's been waiting to get out for a while now. I'll develope it further and do some more sketches before posting the nest step :)

nice sketchy style on the early concepts. Looks interesting. What is the thinking behind it? Ca't wait to see the progression...

This is a second concept I have but it'll probably have to wait until I finish the one I have in mind. This was inspired by a fanfiction I read, about my all time favourtie character (who seems to have lost his mind) keeping his dead wife's spirit in a necklace he gave her as a child. Right now it's basicly fanart, so I'm keeping it vague as not to violate some equally vague copyright lol.

Anyways, wanted to post this before the image escapes.

Hmm, so anyways, I was thinking about this. I am probably going to go for a more used victorian type of machinery on the lab and suit. I made the pic black and white and started painting over parts with color. Also, I got a new idea about the composition and pose of the scientist and cyborg.. Will post it sometime tomorrow :)

Wow, that looks so beautiful.

Correct me if I'm wrong, though, but aren't we limited to a certain 'format' on the paintings? I wanted to make mine tall and narrow as well but had to constrain the painting to fit the criteria.

I also have a little warning regarding the colours - I've found that it's pretty dangerous to paint using so many greys when sketching out like this (chances are the end result might look a little drab).

Anyway, concept is wonderful, execution is looking splendid so far. Looking forward to updates!

Wow, thank you!

Yes, there is some sort of contraint, but I was thinking about working in 'tiles' as my PC can't handle huge formats. Also, the forest can always be cropped out.

Quoted for full agreement! It's awfully easy to fall into that trap, but this is just a sketch and I'm trying not to get depressed over the fact half of it isn't as it should be (...yet ;))

Sorry for polluting the thread with my ramblings, but I thought it's important enough to be noted - I won't be able to even touch my Wacom before April the 14th, but it's quite unlikely I'll actually be able to do that before the 19th. Keep your fingers crossed for me and I might just post something new on the 14th! I'm reworking the whole thing with the sketch I last posted as a start-point.
